2011: Across the United States in a 2000 dollar car without license plates (they blew off in Massachusetts 8000 kilometer before we reached San Francisco). Snowshoeing in Yosemite National Park. A national park tour in California & Oregon going to Redwood NP, Crater Lake NP, Lassen NP, Yosemite NP, Death Valley NP, Mojave NP.
2010-2011: Bicycle trip down the Californian coast south of San
Francisco. Seven months mainly on bicycle and by foot, and most of the time in
the Himalayas, in India, Nepal, Tibet, and China. Plenty of pictures from the trip here.
2009: Reporting trips to South Africa (road trip, hiking, safari),
Swaziland (road trip), Australia (Outback trip in Flinders Ranges & tour of
Tasmania), and Arizona & Utah in the States (road trip, hiking and mountainbiking). Around Iceland by bicycle. Hiking in Norway. Trips to the US
and Canada. Trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal.
2008: Bicycling through the
remote Southwestern Bolivia. Reporting trips to South India (bicycling and
kayaking), Kenya (safari), Rwanda (trekking up to a family of mountain gorillas
on a volcano), Borneo (looking for proboscis monkeys in Bako NP and in a long boat up the
river Alu Ai). Trips to the US and Canada.
2007: Two month stay in
Dharamsala in Northern India to write about the Tibetan community in Exile. Two
months bicycling the Pamir Highway through Tajikistan & Kyrgyzstan. Trips
to the US.
2006: A two month bicycle trip in
the Canadian Rocky Mountains and down the West Coast of the US to San
Francisco. Living in San Francisco. Trip to Baja California in Mexico.
2005: Bicycle trip /reporting
trip in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province. Reporting trips to Norway and
Australia.
2004: Bicycling through Jordan
and Egypt. Hitchhiking from Århus, Denmark to Zürich, Switzerland. Two months
on the bicycle in the Indian Himalayas. Living in Bombay, working as a crime
reporter for Indian newspaper Mid Day.
2003: A month in Barcelona. Two
months on the bicycle in the Indian Himalayas.
2002: one month on the bicycle in Norway. Seven
months on the bicycle through Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras,
Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Equador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina &
Uruguay.
2000-2001: A year on bicycle
through Pakistan,
China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary,
Austria, Germany & Denmark.
